Louise R. (Mastrolia) Masano, 93, of Wyomissing Park, passed away May 20, 2015 in The Reading Hospital.

She was the wife of Tom Masano. They married at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, Reading, on Sept. 5, 1953.

Born in Reading on Sept. 25, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Teresa (Distasio) Mastrolia.

Louise graduated from Reading High School with high honors in 1939 and The McCann School of Business in 1941.

She worked as an administrator for the U.S. Navy Department during WWII, then later for the Internal Revenue Service, both in Reading.

Additionally, she was the historian and social secretary of The Reading Alumnae Chapter of The Alpha Iota Sorority where she frequently served as Emcee to visiting dignitaries to the Berks Country area. She was a beautiful woman who was frequently asked to model for local advertisers and charity events.

Louise was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who embraced every aspect of her role as a homemaker. She was a kind and thoughtful woman who had an artistic flair, a love of books and learning and a particular talent for sewing beautiful clothes, which she shared with her daughters.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children: Thomas F., husband of Heidi Masano, Wyomissing; Andrea M. Masano and Louise A. Masano, both of New York City; John J., husband of Kelly Masano, Wyomissing; her sister, Carol P. Bubnis; her brother-in-law, Brian Bubnis; her sister-in-law, Edith (Masano) Wentzel, all of Wyomissing, and four grandchildren: Julia, John, Megan and Kathryn.

Louise was predeceased by three sisters: Mary A. Gieringer, Catherine E. Mastrolia, and Elizabeth L. Mastrolia, and her brother-in-law, Warren Gieringer.

The family would like to thank all the aids who cared for their mother with their patience and love.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Rosary R.C. Church, 237 Franklin St., Reading, PA 19602. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Alzheimer's Association, 237 Court St., Reading, PA 19601 or Holy Rosary R.C. Church at the above address. Edward J.
