Louise M. Martin

Louise Mitchell Martin, 57, of Exeter Township died March 8, 2012 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Township, after a long, but courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Fountain Hill, Lehigh County, she was a daughter of the late John Hamilton Martin and Hester Louise (Mitchell) Evitts.

Louise was a 1973 graduate of Oley High School and a graduate of Lock Haven University, Little Sister Lambda Chi.

She was employed as a social worker with Threshold for 10 years, in sales management with Foot Locker for over 10 years and most recently, in sales management with Pepperidge Farm for 2 years.

An animal lover, Louise also loved the ocean and jazz.

She is survived by her sister, Jayne T. (Martin) Carpenter of Exeter Township; her two nephews, Christopher B. Carpenter, fiancé of Dee Landis of Birdsboro and Patrick D., husband of Ann Carpenter of Maidencreek Township; great niece and nephews, Tyler, Christopher, Jr., Brandon, Casey, Sean and Drew.

Other survivors include an aunt, Joan D. Pillsbury of Idaho and cousins.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens, Maidencreek Township.
