Louise Owens Maines, 92, of Birdsboro, PA, passed away April 19, 2011. She was born in Fair Haven, VT on February 24, 1919. Louise was the daughter of the late Newton and Winifred Owens. She was predeceased on November 30, 1994 by her husband of 55 years, Walter S. Maines, Jr.

Louise attended Rutland High School, Rutland, VT and graduated from Green Mountain College, Poultney, VT IN 1939.

Louise resided in Cherry Hill, NJ for 31 years were she was employed by Strawbridge & Cloither for 23 years. She moved to Birdsboro, PA to live with her daughter in 1993. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Birdsboro.

Louise is survived by a son, Robert Maines, husband of Sherlene Hahn- Maines, Hellertown, PA, and three daughters, Marie Schwalm, wife of Edward Schwalm, N. Wales, PA, Susan Sinclair, Baltimore, MD. Nancy Garner, wife of Michael Garner, Birdsboro, PA; nine grandchildren, Stacey Grill, Scott Schwalm, Charles Maines, Courtney Maines, Andrew Maines, Shay Maines, Michael Kabbeko, Carly Kabbeko, Erica Moore and 11 great-grandchildren.

Louise was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Geiger.

Louise was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. She loved to laugh, loved her cats Allie and S'more, and shopping for a great pair of shoes. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed.

Her life will be celebrated with a visitation on Monday, April 25th from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. in St. John's UCC, Birdsboro, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. Private interment will be on Wednesday, April 27th at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Lebanon County.
