Louise M. R. Stanley

Louise M. R. Stanley, 84, of Shillington, died February 26, 2008 in St. Joseph's Medical Center.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Frank J. and Mary A. (Falter) Reedy.

She was a graduate of: Reading High School, 1940, the former Helen Moore Hoffman's School for Girls, Reading, 1941, Misericordia Hospital School of Nursing, Philadelphia, 1947 and the St. Joseph Hospital School of Anesthesia. Louise also attended, Albright College, Penn State, Berks Campus, Alvernia College and RACC for continuing education courses.

Mrs. Stanley was a Nurse Anesthetist for St. Joseph's Hospital for 40 years retiring in 1991. She also assisted for, Community General Hospital, Pottstown Memorial Medical Center and Coatesville Hospital.

Louise was a president and vice-president of District III for PANA; and was the State vice-president and treasurer for PANA for 6 years. She also held numerous positions on various committees in District III for both PANA and AANA.

She was a Docent for the Reading Public Museum, giving tours and participating in numerous museum functions. Louise served in a similar position for the Historical Society of Berks County. She also was a member of the "250th Founding of Reading" planning committee.

Louise was a member of the Berks Arts Council, the St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary Board, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Ladies Auxiliary and the 2000 Millennium New Year's Eve Committee.

She was a member of St. John Baptist de La Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington, where she was a member of the choir.

Louise is survived by two sons, Richard J., Los Angeles and Robert E., Santa Monica, CA; and one brother, James F. Reedy, Baltimore, MD.

Services will be private. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
