Louise C. (Palmer) Vath, 92, of Wyomissing, died January 23, 2011 in ManorCare Health Services, West Reading, where she had been a resident for five days.
She was the wife of Bernard L. Vath, who died in 1985.
Born February 26, 1918 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Ruth (Merkel) Palmer.
Louise was a graduate of Reading High School and Kutztown University where she earned a B.S. degree in Elementary Education.
She was employed as an elementary school teacher with St. Lawrence School and Reading School District retiring in 1974.
Louise was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola R.C. Church, Whitfield.
Louise resided with her daughter Patricia, wife of Alfonso Tucci and their son Eric in their Wyomissing home.
Also surviving is a daughter, Linda M. (Vath) Malesic of Lancaster.
Other survivors include a brother, Bruno, husband of Margot Palmer-Poroner of New York, NY and a sister, Angela (Palmer) Schiefer of Greenfields.
There are two additional grandchildren, James A. Kite, IV and Tom Malesic; and one great grandson.
Louise was predeceased by a sister, Jane (Palmer) Graham.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Church. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the mass in the church. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum.
