Louis W. Weidman

Louis W. Weidman, 85 of Shoemakersville died February 25, 2018 in his residence. Born in Shoemakersville on March 18, 1932, he was the son of the late Foster B. and Florence M. (Heidman) Weidman. He was a 1950 graduate of Perry High School. After serving in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict he graduated from Bryant College, RI. He worked for Penn National Insurance from 1961-1983, and for ten years for R.L. Gresham & Co. in Tucson, AZ as a claim representative. Lou lived in Tucson, AZ for 30 years before returning back to Pennsylvania in September. He was a competitive golfer and the Schuylkill Country Club Champion for three consecutive years. Additional hobbies were bird watching with the Audubon society and travelling the world. Lou is survived by his son, Gregory and wife Ruth Weidman of Shoemakersville, and daughters, Susan Moore of Shoemakersville, Natalie Weidman and husband, Alan Potsklan of Wernersville, Peggy Weidman of Hillsborough, NJ, and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 2 nd  at 11:00 a.m. in the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc., Hamburg. A viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
