Louis A. Marinaccio, of Wernersville, Pennsylvania, died peacefully at the age of 95 after a long and full life.
He was born September 25, 1930, in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, the son of Leonard Marinaccio and Martha Piscitelli Marinaccio, and stepson of Peter Funari. He graduated from Lincoln High School in the Class of 1948, and later continued his education at Geneva College, the University of Pittsburgh, and Harvard University.
In 1952, he joined the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He served two years in Japan with the Army Security Agency and earned the rank of Sergeant.
He married Marjorie Barton of Wilmerding, Pennsylvania, in 1955. That same year he began his career in the property and casualty insurance industry. He retired in 1995 as Executive Vice President of the Harford Mutual Insurance Company in Bel Air, Maryland, and remained on the company’s Board of Directors until 2005.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard and Julius Marinaccio, his sister, Lorraine Marinaccio, and his brother, David Funari.
He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Marjorie Marinaccio; his children, Louis A. Marinaccio Jr., Leonard Marinaccio (and daughter-in-law Fran), Melanie Marinaccio, and Monica Cornetti; his sister, Gloria Ferrese; his grandchildren, Louis Cornetti, Nicholas Cornetti, Joseph Cornetti, Julia Marinaccio, Will Marinaccio, and Natalie Bowers; and his great-grandchildren, Giuseppe Cornetti, Luca Cornetti, and Lillian Bowers.
