Lorrie (Grossman) Churico, 43, lost her battle with Pancreatic Cancer in her Exeter Township residence surrounded by her loving family on April 16, 2014.
Born in Hazleton on October 2, 1970, she was a daughter of the late Herman Carl, Jr. and Ruth E. (Baer) Grossman.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard A. Churico, Jr; her son, Christian Obert, Reading; her step-daughter, Sabrinia Churico; her step-son, Shelby Churico; and her in-laws, Richard A., Sr. and Judy A. Churico, all of Exeter Township.
Lorrie graduated from MMI Preparatory School, Freeland in 1998, Reading Hospital School of Nursing in 2005 and Cuma Sum laude from Eastern Mennonite University earning a bachelors degree in the Science of Nursing in 2008.
She was a member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Sinking Spring where she taught Sunday School and participated in vacation bible school.
Lorrie began working in 2005 for the Reading Hospital providing care in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit. She was the SICU Practice Counsel Chairman/Team Leader for Policy and Procedures.
Lorrie was actively involved in the American Cancer Society Relay for Life and Purple Stride for Pancreatic Cancer awareness.
Services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, PA 19611. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Manhattan Beach, CA, suite 200 90266.
