Loretta A. Rapp, retired teacher
Loretta A. Rapp, 72, Cumru Township, a former teacher, died Feb. 4 in Wyomissing Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Reading, where she had been a patient since Dec. 29.
She was the wife of Curtis V. Rapp.
Born in East Stroudsburg, Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Harold I. and Anna L. (Schneidenwind) Grebe.
Rapp had been employed for 22 years as a teacher by the Gov. Mifflin School District, last working as a sixth-grade teacher at the district's intermediate school until her retirement in 1993.
She was a 1949 graduate of Mount Penn High School and received a bachelor's degree in education from Kutztown University in 1971.
Rapp was a life member and past president of the South Berks Retired School Employees Association.
She was past president of the Woman's Club of Shillington.
Rapp is also survived by two daughters, Carol A. (Rapp) Birchak, Cincinnati, and Karen M. (Rapp) Cryer, Sandy, Utah.
There are also six grandchildren.
Memorial services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home Inc., Laureldale. Private burial will be in Laureldale Cemetery, Tuckerton. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Animal Rescue League P.O. Box 69 Mohnton, PA 19540 or Humane Society 1801 North 11th Street Reading, PA 19604.
