Lorenz Regneth

Lorenz Regneth, 87 of Wyomissing, died January 9 at 9:00 PM in the Reading Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was the husband of Josephine (Kroiss) Regneth, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Dyning Germany, he was the son of the late Lorenz and Margarete (Hierl) Regneth.

Lorenz was employed as a tool and dye maker for 27 years at Western Electric and AT & T, where he was awarded several US patents for the firm.

He was a charter member of St. Ignatius Loyola Church. He was also a member of the Reading Liederkranz and the Northmond Fellowship Association.

In addition to his wife, Lorenz is survived by a son, Lawrence J. Regneth, also of Wyomissing.

Other survivors include a brother Karl, husband of Stilla Regneth; sister Maria Groitl, widow of Jacob Groitl; sister Rosa Jucht, widow of Karl Heinz Jucht; sister Hildegard Kumpfmuller, wife of Otto Kumpfmuller; sister Marga Listl, wife of Heinz Listl; and sister Traudi Dresel, all of Germany. Additionally there are numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Willibald Regneth and sister Lissy Thomeczek, wife of Olaf Thomeczek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ignatius Loyola Church on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 10:00 AM. The family will be receiving guests at the church one hour prior to services.
