Lorena M. Heckman

Lorena M. Heckman, 83 formerly of Hamburg died June 9, 2010 in St. Joseph Medical Center, having been a patient there for one week. She was the wife of Russell A. Heckman, Sr., a guest at the Laurel Center, Tilden Township. Born in Strausstown, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Florence (Binner) Moyer. She was the former owner of Hecky's Sub Shop, Hamburg and also worked as a sewing machine operator in various knitting mills in the Hamburg area. She was a member of Friedens Church, Shartlesville. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Rebecca A. wife of Carl Boltz, Auburn and Paula J. wife of Leon Huey, Jefferson Township with whom she resided; two sons, Russell A. Heckman, Jr. and wife Karen, Bernville and Steven A. Heckman and wife Pam, Upper Bern Township; and three very close and devoted sisters: Annie Phillips, Bethel, Lucy Moyer, Reading and Linda Umbenhauer, Rehersburg. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, one step grandson and thirteen great grandchildren. She was predeceased by sisters Janice Dubbs and Nancy Moyer and a brother Robert Moyer. Memorial services will be held on Sunday at 1:00 PM in Friedens Church, Shartlesville. Burial will be private.
