Lois Mae Moll

Lois F. "Puddy" Moll, 87, formerly of Shillington and Wyomissing died Thursday, April 3, at Phoebe Berks Healthcare Center, after a long illness.

Puddy is survived by her husband, Donald H. Moll, Sr. The couple, who were married 67 years, met in Sunday School in Harrisburg when they were in the seventh grade. After graduating from John Harris High School in Harrisburg , Puddy attended the University of Maryland until her marriage in 1947. She then worked, while her husband, an Air Force Veteran of World War II, earned his degree on the GI bill.

While raising five children, Puddy, was an assistant Girl Scout leader and very involved in all of her children's activities especially swimming.

She and her husband owned a vacation cottage in Lake Naomi in the Poconos. She enjoyed outdoor activities at Lake Naomi, socializing with friends and running Camp Maga for her grandchildren. Maga was their nickname for her.

Puddy loved winter sports and skied until her late 70s. In 1988 she and her husband attended the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary. The couple traveled all over the world together. They were longtime members of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Shillington.

Puddy is pre-deceased by her sister, Mary Jane (Fritz) Ford.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons: Bill Moll, husband of Pat (Hafler) Moll, San Francisco, Calif.; Don Moll, Jr., husband of Ann (Gallen) Moll, Lincoln Park, Pa,; daughters Beth Boyle, Lansdale; A. Jane M. Whitman, wife of Scott, Audubon, Pa.;. Jean M. Link, wife of Mark, Fleetwood, Pa,; 11 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. Monday, April 7, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at Phoebe Berks Chapel, 9 Reading Dr., Wernersville, Pa.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the National Alopecia Areeta Foundation, 14 Mitchell Blvd, San Rafael, CA 94903 or the Shriners Hospital of Philadelphia, 3551 N. Broad, Philadelphia, PA.
