Lois Arlene "Dolly" Kappenstein, 77, of Wyomissing, died July 21, 2007 at 7:25 am in ManorCare Health Services, Spring Township, where she had been a patient since June 19th.

She was the widow of Leroy Charles Kappenstein, who died November 11, 1978.

Born in Wyomissing, PA on October 8, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Harry Carl Rentz and Grace Mary Kathryn (Palm) Shenk.

She was a 1948 graduate of Birdsboro High School.

Dolly was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Wyomissing, where she served as a past treasurer of the Sunday School.

She was employed as a seamstress with Community General Hospital, Reading, until her retirement.

Dolly is survived by two children, Thomas A. husband of Margaret G. (Graham) Kappenstein of Exeter Township and Debra D. Leardi of Mount Penn.

Other survivors include a brother, Jack Kinsey of Ephrata and four sisters, Patricia Hiltebeitel of Wyomissing, Lovina M. Weldy of Harbeson, Del., Jill A. Warmkessel of Bernville and Sandra Fairchild of Sugarloaf, PA.

There are also two grandsons, Jared M. Kappenstein of Pasadena, MD and Bradley D. Leardi of Las Vegas, NV.

Dolly was predeceased by a sister, Kathryn Klein, who died May 10, 2004.

Services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, with the Rev. Nancy R. Dougherty officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township.
