Lloyd H. Riegel, 87, of Reading died April 22 at 4 a.m. in Reading Hospital where he had been for one month.

He was the husband of Anna M.(O'Neill) Riegel.

Born in Grill, he was the son of the late Henry and Mabel (White) Riegel.

He was employed for 38 years at Parish Structural Products Division of Dana Corporation, Reading last working as tool and die plant manager before retiring in 1977.

Riegel was a graduate of Reading High School and attended both Hillsdale College, Hillsdale MI and Penn State University, State College, PA.

He was President and co-owner of Sho Boat Bar and Restaurant from 1963 to 1998.

Riegel was a member of St. Margaret's R.C. Church, Reading.

He served in the Navy in World War II as a machinist mate on the USS Cebu.

Riegel was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council #793, Reading. He was also a member of the V.F.W., Reading.

Surviving are a son, Lloyd F., Reading and two daughters Patricia A. (Riegel) Bush, Lederach, Montgomery County and Jean L. Riegel, Reading.

Other survivors include two sisters, Mabel (Riegel) Yeager, Venice, Florida and Grace (Riegel) Staub, Birdsboro. There are also 5 grandchildren, one great granddaughter and 3 step great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. in St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
