Lizzie A. Himmelreich

Lizzie Alverta (Penrose) Himmelreich, 88, formerly of Reading, died January 12, 2009 at 4:20 a.m. in Berks County Home - Berks Heim, Bern Township.

She was married to the late Oscar H. Himmelreich.

Born November 11, 1920 in Muhlenberg Township, Lizzie was a daughter of the late Charles Benjamin and Mamie Gertrude (Keller) Penrose.

She was employed as a factory worker by Bachman's Bakery, Reading for many years, retiring in 1982.

Lizzie was a member of Alsace Lutheran Church, Muhlenberg Township.

Surviving is a son, Francis R. Himmelreich of Tilden Township and a daughter Annamae S. Unger of Shillington.

Other survivors include 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. and Friday morning from 9:30-10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Spies-Zion Cemetery, Alsace Township.
