Lindy J. McAllister, 74, of Sunset Road, West Reading, died Dec. 24 at 3:30 p.m. in the Lebanon Veterans Administration Hospital, where he had been a patient since Dec. 13.
He was the husband of La Neave R. (Adams) McAllister.
Born in Bethel, he was a son of the late Robert W. and Mary Kate (Brown) McAllister.
McAllister was employed as a truck driver for more than 30 years and was last employed by Bachman Pretzels, Reading, before retiring in 1992.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
McAllister was a member of Altalaha Lutheran Church, Rehrersburg.
He is also survived by a son, Kerry, West Reading; and four daughters: Bonnie (McAllister) Roeder and Lani McAllister, both of Shoemakersville; Kim (McAllister) Keys, Mohrsville; and Janelle McAllister, Blandon.
Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Connie (Geiss) Bernet, Alsace Township; and two stepsons, Darryl Geiss, West Reading, and Drew Geiss, Ephrata.
There are also three sisters: Sally (McAllister) Manbeck and Verna (McAllister) Noecker, both of Bethel, and Florence (McAllister) Mountz, Muhlenberg Township.
There are also 10 grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.
Services will be next Friday at noon in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Lebanon County. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Heart Assn., 40 Berkshire Court, Wyomissing, Pa 19610.
