Lindsay Marie Topper

Lindsay Marie Topper, 34, of Charles Town, WV, passed away peacefully at her home on February 1, 2026, after a difficult battle with cancer. She fought a courageous and challenging battle.

Lindsay was born in Reading, PA, on July 5, 1991, the daughter of Kathleen (McNellis)Topper, Shillington, PA and Louis Topper, West Reading, PA.

Lindsay graduated from Governor Mifflin High School in 2009, spending much of her time as a cross country and track athlete. Lindsay attended Lock Haven University, continuing her running career during those years. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics/Education in 2013.

Lindsay met her husband, TJ Atlee, in 2015. Lindsay and TJ met while both working at Millbrook HS, Winchester, VA. They have been married for the past 5 years. They reside with their dogs, Zoey and Sirius, in Charles Town, WV.

Lindsay taught High School math for seven years, last teaching at Potomac Falls High School, Loudoun County, VA. She changed careers in 2020, when she found a job more in line with what she wanted at NVR, Inc as a Materials Purchaser in Thurmont, MD.

Though her time with us was short, Lindsay filled every moment with laughter, warmth, and an endless love for life. She had a gift for finding joy in the simple things, whether belting out her favorite songs at karaoke nights, dancing to songs in the kitchen, sharing laughs at her favorite wineries and breweries, or catching up on the latest teen dramas she could never quite stop watching. Her playlists, like her spirit, were full of life and emotion, and no one who heard her sing could forget the happiness in her voice. Lindsay’s smile could light up a room instantly.

She enjoyed her long walks and being active, especially when shared with her loved ones. Her “Twilight group” was more than just friends, it was a circle of friendship that brought her silly jokes, deep conversations, and endless inside references that will continue to make her friends smile for years to come.

More than anything, Lindsay adored her family and friends. She was the one who could turn ordinary moments into memories, always suggesting a get-together, always the one making everyone feel seen and loved. Her kindness, humor, empathy and effortless ability to make others feel good will never be forgotten.

Lindsay is also survived by her sister, Jessica Clouser (Derek), her brother, Ryan Topper (Gabrielle), her sister-in-law, Megan Ragano (Cami), and her nieces and nephew, Hope, Reagan, Max, Blair and Clara. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Beverly McNellis and her paternal grandmother, Lynda Butt. She is predeceased by her maternal grandfather, John McNellis, and paternal grandfather, Robert Topper.

One of Lindsay’s greatest loves the past 14 years has been the role of aunt Linny. She adored her nieces and nephew, spending as much time with them as possible. She loved to attend their sports and activities, as well as hangout with them playing games, watching movies and having sleepovers.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 11AM at Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading. Family and friends will be received from 9:30AM-11AM.
