Linda Klein Yates, of Mohrsville, Berks County, Pennsylvania, died on December 30, 2025, after a short illness. She was born on August 19, 1951, in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Gladys Harder Klein and Robert C. Klein.
Linda spent her early childhood in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, and Amherst, Ohio, before moving with her family to Steelton, Pennsylvania. She graduated from Steelton High School, where she was a member of the marching and concert bands, a leading member of the debate team, and appeared as Dorothy in a production of The Wizard of Oz.
Linda went on to attend Bryn Mawr College and the University of Pennsylvania, and attained the designation of Certified Financial Planner in 1987. She enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a financial professional, working in mortgage banking—including as a regional division leader for a national home builder—as well as in investment banking and trust and investment management for major firms. She later worked in private banking, specializing in legal and medical practice financing, and since 2008 served as Client Manager for Carlino Capital Management of Wyomissing.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 33 years, Jack; her son, Frederick R. “Rick” Prayer and his wife, Susan, of Camp Hill; her step-daughter, Ruth Elizabeth “Betsy” Yates Long and her husband, Brian, of Millington, New Jersey; and her grandchildren, whom she adored, Molly Anne Long and Theodore Kevin “Teddy” Long. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert C. Klein, Jr., of Mechanicsburg and William C. Klein of Philadelphia; her sister, Joanne Schafer, and her husband, David, of West Chester; and her beloved sister-in-law, Wilhelmina Curtis of Califon, New Jersey. Additional survivors include her nieces, Nicole and Victoria Klein and Claire Schafer; her nephew, Blaze Schafer; and numerous cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.
Linda was ordained a deacon in the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 1998 and was a communicant of St. Michael’s Lutheran Church of Hamburg.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Church, 529 Saint Michaels Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. The family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the service.
