Lillian J. Romano

Lillian J. (DeLong) Romano, of Hamburg, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at the age of 96. She was the beloved wife of Michael J. Romano Sr., with whom she shared 36 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 1993.

Born in Tilden Township, she was the daughter of the late Alfred M. H. and Sallie C. (Epler) DeLong. Lillian worked as a teacher’s aide for the Berks County Intermediate Unit from 1976 until her retirement in 1993. She was a member of Mohrsville Church of the Brethren, where she formed many lasting friendships. Lillian enjoyed dancing, listening to live country music, and reading. She also loved crossword puzzles, watching her favorite programs, and testing her knowledge with Jeopardy!. An excellent cook, she always welcomed family and friends with a meal.

She is survived by her son, Michael Romano Jr.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Roger and Allen, and her 11 siblings, as she was the youngest of the family.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 40 S. 4th St., Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
