Lillian Louise Hettrick

Lillian Louise (Lare) Hettrick, 73, passed away June 30, 2014 in her Reading home.

She was predeceased by her husband, David Hettrick, in 1978 and her companion, Luis Diaz, in 2013.

Born October 1, 1940 in Schuylkill Township, Chester County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Turkington and Eleanor Maud (Pender) Lare.

She worked for the Abe Lincoln Hotel for many years.

Lillian is survived by her three children: Robert J. Hettrick, Reading; Brenda J., wife of Robert DeJesus, Reading; and Eleanor Hettrick, Reading. Also surviving are her three siblings: Thomas Lare, Pottstown; Robert Lare, MD; and Edith Adaski, Pottstown. Ten grandchildren: Robert, husband of Staci DeJesus; Dennis, husband of Katie DeJesus; Teresa DeJesus; Maria Alvarez; Herman Alvarez; Delores Alvarez; David Perez; Amy Hettrick; Ruth Hettrick; and Mary Hettrick as well as 28 great-grandchildren also survive her.

She was predeceased by her son, David T. Hettrick, and her sister, Janet Sanders.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. A viewing will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Pottstown. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
