Lillian H. Beaver

Lillian H. (Hoffman) Beaver, 84, of 3427 Freemont Street, Laureldale died March 1st at 11:13 p.m. in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center where she had been since February 2nd.

She was the widow of William C. Beaver (Died October 23, 1982).

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Henry F. and Calla (Ross) Hoffman.

She was a 1936 graduate of Reading High School.

Beaver was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale where she taught Sunday School, and weekday Church School. She was also a member of the Choir and Bell Choir. Beaver also served as a lector, was a Shut-In Vestor and was past president of the Lutheran Church Women of Calvary Lutheran Church.

She was also a past president and ticket chairman of Berks County's Christian Women's Club and a Stonecroft bible study guide.

Beaver was a member of the Muhlenberg Community Chorus and the Happy Go Lucky Singers.

She was a past corresponding secretary for the Laureldale Garden Club and was a volunteer for the Berks Visiting Nurse Association, Wyomissing.

Beaver was the first driver for Berks County's Meals-On-Wheels program at the Muhlenberg Senior Center and the past president of the Laureldale Senior Club.

She was a foster mother for 40 years.

Beaver is survived by a son, William C. "Chip" Jr., husband of Linda (Gordon) Beaver of Glenmoore, Chester County and a daughter, Bonnie G. (Beaver) wife of Harold W. Breckley Jr., of Cumru Township.

She is also survived by her foster son, Keith A. Missimer of Cumru Township.

Other survivors include five grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a brother, Henry "Hank" Hoffman Jr. and a sister, Dorothy Hoffman.

Services will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale. Viewing Noon until time of service in the church. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Township. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church, 1009 Elizabeth Ave., Laureldale, Pa 19605, Berks Visiting Nurse Association, 1170 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, Pa 19610 or Association for Retarded Citizens of Berks County, 1829 New Holland Road, Reading, Pa 19607.
