Lewis J. Stahler

Lewis J. Stahler, 77, of Exeter Township, passed away January 20, 2009 in Reading Hospital where he had been a patient since January 16th.

He was the loving husband of June D. (Copelin) Stahler. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 17.

Born in Schuylkill County, he was the son of the late Emerson W. and Bessie Anne (Jones) Stahler.

He was a 1949 graduate of Mahanoy City High School; during that time he also earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

Lew was employed for 40 years, last working as a consultant for Professional Data Solutions, Blue Bell, retiring in 1997.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

Lew was a long time Dallas Cowboy fan as well as a fan of Penn State Football. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially loved watching his grandsons participate in sports.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Ronald L., West Palm Beach, FL, Gerald L., Boise, ID, and Toby J., husband of Rowena, Chico, CA; and a daughter, Holly R. wife of Mark Gdowik, Bernville, PA. Three grandchildren, Nick Gdowik, Aaron Ortyl and Victoria Stahler also survive him.

Lew was predeceased by a grandson, Jason Stahler in 2002.
