Lewis Hatzas

Lewis Hatzas, 87, of Reading, died December 22, 2008 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.

Born April 25, 1921 in his Reading residence, he was a son of the late Nickolas and Aphrodite (Karaces) Hatzas.

He was a member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Reading.

Lewis was a Navy Veteran of WWII.

He was employed as a knitter with Berkshire Knitting Mills and later employed with Polymer Corporation, Muhlenberg Township.

Lewis was also employed as an audio visual technician with both the Reading School District and than with the Berks County Intermediate Unit.

He is survived by two siblings: Helen Hatzas of Reading and Christy Hatzas of Kenhorst.

Lewis was predeceased by three siblings: George Hatzas, Mary Cheri and James Hatzas.

Services will be Monday at 11:00 am in Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 East Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611. Viewings will be held Sunday 6:00 - 8:00 pm in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave., West Reading and Monday 10:00 am until time of services in the Church.
