Lewis H. Conrad Jr., 87, of Wyomissing Hills passed away September 25, 2015 at the Reading Hospital
He was the husband of Eleanore T. Conrad who died October 25, 1999.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Lewis H. and Mary (Stivers) Conrad.
Lewis was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the U.S.S. Helena during World War II.
He was employed by Conrail as a locomotive engineer before retiring in 1987.
Lewis was an avid golfer. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking and most especially spending time with his family. Lewis and his long-time companion, Gloria Moodhart, spent most of their winter months in sunny Myrtle Beach.
He is survived by his daughter, Debra A. Schneck, companion of Michael Makuch, Sinking Spring; grandchildren, Jenna, Steven and Kevin and great grandchildren, Emma and Gracie.
Lewis is predeceased by his brother, Philip J. Conrad and sister, Margaret (Conrad) Gimbi.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhome.com.
