Lester H. Baver

Lester H. "Moe" Baver, 87 of Deer Lake died November 6th in the Schuylkill Medical Center where he had been a patient for the past 2 weeks. He was the husband of Beatrice S. (Sterner) Baver who died October 23, 2004. He was born in Molino, (Schuylkill County) and was the son of the late Irvin G. and Mary (Knoblauch) Baver. He was employed most of his life as a brick layer and stone mason. He was a member of Zion's Red Church, Orwigsburg and was an Army veteran of WWII. Lester was a member of Schuylkill Lodge # 138 F. & A.M., Rajah Shriners and its Legion of Honor and the Scottish Rite of Reading. He was a former Captain of the Deer Lake and West Brunswick Fire Police and served for 50 years. He was a lifelong member of the Schuylkill County Farmer's Safety Club and a Charter member of the WWII National Museum. He is survived by 3 daughters: Bernice B. Baver, St. Louis, Mo, Brenda I. wife of James Wosochlo, Sr., West Brunswick Township, and Beverly A. Baver at home, 5 grandchildren, Justin Gault, Desiree Tabler, Evan Wosochlo, James Wosochlo, Jr. and Caleb Baver and 4 great grandchildren, Luke Wosochlo, Sophia Wosochlo, Henry Tabler and Margaret Tabler. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, Inc. 40 S.4th St., Hamburg. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Schuylkill Masonic Lodge services will be held at 8:00 PM Wednesday evening. An additional viewing will be held on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, North Manheim Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Children Hospital, 3351 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pa.
