Leslie Manning, 65, of West Reading, died April 27, 2010 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Born and raised in New Jersey, she was the only child of the late William and Helen (Ransom) Manning.
After graduating from Collingwood, NJ, High School in 1962, she moved to the Reading area with her family and began a 32 year career in banking as a teller at Reading Trust, from which she retired as a branch manager with then Core States Financial Corp., in 1994. After retiring she worked part-time with Pollack Furs and, up to present, with Groft Financial Services.
Leslie was active in numerous organizations, including Secretary of the Reading Phillies Advisory Board (25 years), Recording Secretary of the Berks County Chapter of the American Institute of Banking (20 years), Account Executive for the Hamilton Bank United Way Campaign (1982), and the local Chamber of Commerce.
She is survived by one aunt, eight cousins, a large number of other extended family, and numerous close friends in the Reading area.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8th at the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring. A visitation will be Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the funeral home.
