Leroy Klein

On August 6, 2010, God extended His hand and led Lee Klein from this world into the eternal life that was the foundation of Lee's faith. God fulfilled His promise made in Matthew 11:28 "Come to me all of you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest."

Lee was born April 1, 1946 in The Reading Hospital. Lee is survived by his soul-mate and wife of 42 years, Fran (Fister) Klein. He is also survived by daughters Jessica, wife of Timothy Snyder of Maidencreek Twp; Aurilie, wife of Robert Eckenrode of Bernville and son Paul Klein, husband of Laurie of Cornelius, NC. Four grandchildren will stand with their parents to support Fran in the years ahead; Charlie, Leanne and Olivia Eckenrode and Joshua Snyder.

From the moment Lee was diagnosed with lung cancer in April 2008, Jesus Christ never left his side. God's Grace directed Lee to the Bible's words of comfort, peace and strength. God guided Lee to many opportunities to share the story of his medical and spiritual journey with others.

Lee was predeceased by his parents LeRoy and Mary (Terefenko) Klein of Shillington and a sister Jean Schreiner also of Shillington.

Lee was a graduate of Central Catholic High School Class of 1964 and received degrees from Villanova and Temple Universities.

He retired from Carpenter Technology as Vice President of Logistics following a 31 year career. Lee served on a number of community boards and fund raising committees.

Lee was named an Trustee Emeritus of Alvernia University in June of 2010.

Lee went to his rest with God's words on his lips..Psalm 103:2-3 "Praise the Lord O my soul and forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."

A Casual Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Toscani, 1101 Rocky Drive, Spring Township. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading is in charge of arrangements.
