Leroy G. Snyder, 87, formerly of Flying Hills, died March 14, 2007 in Mifflin Center.

His loving wife Jane Marie (Chelius) Snyder predeceased him on March 20, 2006.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late George D. and Marie (Trupp) Snyder.

He was was employed by Berks Title Insurance Co. for 35 years and served as President until his retirement in 1984. After his retirement he served as a consultant to Berks Title and then to Sentry Abstract Co. for an additional 5 years.

He was a devoted parent and loving grandfather, who enjoyed sharing time with his friends and going on yearly family vacations.

Leroy was a member of the Board of Directors of PA Land Title Association, having served as its President in 1971. He also was a member of the Reading Rotary Club and a former Board member of the Children's Home of Reading.

Leroy was a member of St. Benedict's Roman Catholic Church, Plowville.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WW II attaining the rank of 1st Sergeant.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas L. husband of Patricia H. Snyder, Cherry Hill, NJ and James M. husband of Kathryn S. Snyder, Cumru Twp. One sister, Doris wife of Richard Hosler, Bethlehem and three grandchildren, T. Matthew, Carolyn and Brian also survive him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Benedict's Church 2020 Chestnut Hill Road Mohnton, PA 19540. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. A viewing will be held both Monday from 5 to 7 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading and on Tuesday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the church.
