Leroy G. Levan

Leroy G. "Lee" Levan, 78, passed away April 9, 2025, at Country Meadows Personal Care Home.

Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Roy and Marie (Dietz) Levan.

Lee graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor's Degree and later obtained his Law Degree from Villanova University. He practiced law for 35 years before retiring in 2019.

Lee often joked that his legacy is the 30-foot peace sign that he and some friends painted in Mount Penn in 1967. The peace sign, which can still be seen today from the Berks County Court House, has even been featured on postcards.

He is survived by two children, Jason Levan, husband of Kristine, Indiana, PA, and Milicent Johnson, wife of Frank, Killeen, TX; his brother, Michael Levan, Mount Penn; four grandchildren: Emma Levan, Sarah Levan, Miana Martinez, and Francesca Johnson. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren: Vanessa Martinez, Peighton Martinez, and Emmanuel Martinez; and two nephews, Brian Levan, Westminster, PA and Joshua Levan, husband of Jessica, Lititz, PA.

He was predeceased by his sister, Anne Levan, who died in 2021.

A visitation will be Saturday May, 3, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 5153 Kutztown Rd., Temple, PA 19560. Burial at Gethsemane Cemetery. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
