Leonora F. Guthrie

Leonora F. Guthrie, 90, died October 13, 2007 in her Shillington residence.

She was the wife of Mark R. Guthrie, Sr.

Born in Sunbury, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Clara (Whitty) Spotts.

She began her teaching career at Muhlenberg High School as a business teacher and later taught for 10 years for Tulpehocken High School until her retirement.

Leonora was a 1938 graduate of Susquehanna University, and she attended Bucknell University for graduate studies.

She was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Roman Catholic Church, Shillington.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Mark R., Jr. husband of Susan Guthrie, West Lawn and two grandchildren, Becky Guthrie and Danny Guthrie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. in St. John's Church. Entombment will be in Gethsemane Mausoleum.
