Leonard Vandzura, 61, of Sinking Spring, died of natural causes January 19th at 12:05 a.m. in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, where he had been a patient since January 1st.
He was the husband of Jean (Shoener) Vandzura, Sinking Spring.
Born in Portage, PA, he was a son of Helen M. (Golden) Vandzura, Portage, and the late Andrew F. Vandzura.
He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Whitfield.
He was 1961 graduate of Portage Area High School.
Vandzura was the owner of Jalvan associates for 8 years until his sickness.
He was an Air Force Veteran, serving as a flight engineer and later as a Master Sergeant in the Army National Guard for 20 years.
Vandzura is survived by two daughters, Amie J. Vandzura and Laura C. Vandzura, both at home.
Other survivors include two brothers, Andrew D. of Lewistown, PA, and Raymond of Portage, PA; and two sisters Barbara (Vandzura) Miller of Ft. Pierce, FL, and Lucine (Vandzura) Alex of Tinesta, PA.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Loyola RCC, Whitfield. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Contributions may be made to a college fund for his daughters, 3434 Penn Ave. Sinking Spring, Pa 19608. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. is in charge of the arrangements.
