Leona Loretta (Wheeler) Staver, 72, of Reading, died March 28, 2013 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Born June 9, 1940 in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mildred (Steinhauer) Wheeler.
She was employed as a machine operator with Narrow Fabric Industries for over 20 years. She was also a carrier for Reading Eagle Company and a school crossing guard at 16th and Haak.
Leona enjoyed walking and the outdoors and also loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She loved her cats and dogs.
Leona was a volunteer with East Reading Swimming Association for over 10 years.
She also enjoyed playing Bingo.
Surviving are her two sons: Keith A. Staver, fiancé of Kim Cupani of West Reading and Scott B., Sr., husband of Debra Staver of Laureldale.
Other survivors include her four siblings: Robert Wheeler of Muhlenberg Township, Evelyn Wheeler of Mohnton, Mabel Mick of Reading and Stella Moyer of Reading.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Leona was predeceased by three siblings: Harry Wheeler, William Wheeler and Virginia Lorah.
A viewing will be held Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
