Leon A. Shiery

Leon A. Shiery, 68, of Sinking Spring, died May 7, 2010 in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Bridget Ann (Elzer) Shiery, who died April 11, 2003.

Born May 30, 1941 in West Reading, he was a son of the late Leon and Rose (Torchia) Shiery.

Leon was a 1961 graduate of West Reading High School. He also attended Riverside Community College in California.

He was employed as shipping supervisor with Grafika Commercial Printing for 35 years, retiring in 2003.

Leon was a life lodge member of Victor Emmanuel, Reading.

He loved to go fly fishing, hiking and to watch Conrad Weiser football games.

Surviving is a son, Lee M., husband of Donna M. (Bukowski) Shiery of Lincoln Park.

There are also two grandchildren, Molly A. and Ian C. surviving.

Leon was predeceased by a brother, David Shiery.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart R.C. Church, Lakeview & Franklin Sts., West Reading. A viewing will be held from 8:30-9:30 a.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township.
