Leon L. Kuchinski

Leon L. Kuchinski, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2023. He was the loving husband of Joann (Stavetski) Kuchinski, with whom he shared 63 years of marriage.

Born in Glen Lyon, he was the son of the late Leo and Nellie (Micholayczk) Kuchinski. After graduating from Newport High School, Leon went on to receive a B.S. from Kings College in Wilkes Barre and a Masters in Public Health from Columbia University in New York. He worked for 43 years with the Commonwealth of PA's Department of Environmental Resources. He retired as the Chief of the Compliance Office for the Division of Hazardous Waste Management in Harrisburg. Leon was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served at Fort Detrick, MD in the research department.

In addition to his wife, Joann, he is survived by sons: David Kuchinski (wife Melissa) of West Lawn, Kenneth Kuchinski of Collegeville, and Steven Kuchinski of Reading; grandson, Alexander Kuchinski, of whom he was very proud; and sister, Jean Kuchinski.

Leon was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Kuchinski.

Services and interment at St. Mary's Cemetery in Reading will be private.
