Leola M. Engleman

Leola Matilda Engleman, 98, of Kutztown, died January 28, 2011 in Kutztown Manor.

She was the widow of George Robert Engleman.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Solan W., Sr. and Emma Margaret (Egolf) Bailey.

She was a salesperson for Pomeroy's Department Store, Reading.

Leola was a member of Reading Moravian Church.

She is survived by her son, Robert C. Engleman, Oley. Also surviving is her brother, Nelson Bailey, Palmyra. Three grandchildren; Wendy Kline, Boyertown, James Engleman, NJ., Jon Engleman, Pottstown and five great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Kline, Madeline Engleman, Jack Engleman, Paige Engleman and Sydney Engleman survive her.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Shirley M. (Engleman) Wood and three siblings: Solan W. Bailey, Jr., Harvine Burkhart and Roberta Bailey.

Services will be Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Rd., Laureldale. A viewing will be one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
