Leo R. Saweikis

Leo Robert Saweikis, 89, of Sinking Spring, passed away May 25, 2017, in Manor Care Sinking Spring.

Born in Kulpmont, PA, he was a son of the late Joseph and Martha (Makowski) Saweikis.

His wife, Eleanor (Kobilis) Saweikis, passed away April 9, 2011.

Leo was employed by TRW in Danville, PA as a supervisor. He then went on to work at Quaker Maid Kitchens and Vanity Fair Outlets until his retirement both as a supervisor.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Leo was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Church where he also served as a Eucharistic Minister.

He was a member of the International Management Club for many years. He enjoyed dining out, spending time with his family, and he was well loved by many.

Leo is survived by his three children: Donna M., wife of Dale A. Beissel, Wyomissing; Leo J., husband of Pamela E. Saweikis, Orlando, FL; and Joyce A., wife of Richard L. Kramer, Mt. Penn; one sister, Barbara Deromedi, Kulpmont; one granddaughter, Jennifer A., wife of Robert R. Perez; and two great grandchildren, Dominick D. Perez and Ava Perez.

He was predeceased by two brothers, James and Bernard Saweikis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Church, 2810 St. Albans Drive, Reading, PA 19608. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg, PA. A viewing will be held Wednesday from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the church. The Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Ignatius Loyola Church to the above address.
