Lee R. Lewis

Lee R. Lewis, 80, of Kurtz Mill Road, Brecknock Township, died Sept. 2 in Zerbe Sisters Nursing Center, Narvon, Lancaster County.

Born in Muhlenberg Township, he was a son of the late Clarence S. and Blanche R. (Ernfield) Lewis.

Lewis was employed for 11 years by the Pennsylvania Railroad in Philadelphia and was the owner-operator for several years of a beer distributorship in Shillington. He was the owner of Chat-a-While Inn, Newmanstown, Lebanon County, for several years until his retirement.

He was a graduate of Shillington High School.

Lewis was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II.

Lewis, who resided with M. Jeanne Guigley, is survived by a son, Michael L., Denver, Lancaster County; and two daughters, Donna L. (Lewis) Lang, Topeka, Kan., and Susan L. (Lewis) Tremblay, Harrisburg.

Other survivors include five grandchildren.

Services will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery Chapel, Lebanon County. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Berks Visiting Nurses Assn., 1170 Berkshire Blvd., Wyomissing, Pa 19610. Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., West Reading, is in charge of arrangements.
