Lee Schaeffer Gauker, 81, died October 12th at 8:14 am in his residence at 5 Oakhaven Road, (Richmond Township) Fleetwood, Pa 19522.
He was married 57 years to Minerva B. (Boyer) Gauker.
Born in Richmond Township, he was a son of the late John W. Gauker, Laura M. (Schaeffer) Gauker-Heffner and step-son of the late Howard B. Heffner.
He was a 1940 graduate of Fleetwood High School.
Gauker was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood where he served on the consistory.
He was the 7th generation farmer of the Gauker Farm in Richmond Township which started in 1848, last working in July. His farm was awarded a Century Farm Certificate this summer from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture.
Gauker was a free and accepted Mason of the Masonic Lodge #377 of Kutztown.
He was a life member and past gate keeper of the Fleetwood Grange #1839.
Gauker is also survived by three daughters, Carol A. (Gauker) wife of William A. Strause of Ruscombmanor Township, Fay E. (Gauker) wife of David J. Absalom of Richmond Township and Sandra M. (Gauker) wife of George A. Stump of Richmond Township.
Other survivors include two sons, Barry L. husband of Jackie L. (Neider) Gauker of Richmond Township and Bruce A. husband of Beth A. (Knoll) Gauker of Richmond Township.
There are eleven grandchildren and one step-grandson.
Services will be Thursday at 10:00 am in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 West Arch Street, Fleetwood, Pa 19522. Rev. Dr. Barbara Kershner Daniel officiating. Viewings Wednesday evening 6:30 - 8:00 pm and Thursday morning 9:00 - 10:00 am both in the church. Burial will be in Fleetwood Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the church at the above address or to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 3705 Elmwood Avenue, Harrisburg, Pa 17110. Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., Laureldale is in charge of arrangements.
