Lawrence "Larry" Mazer, 77, of Hamburg, passed away at his residence on April 5th 2022.
Born in McKeeport, PA he was a son of the late Stanley and Cecelia (Jeroski) Mazer.
Larry served in the US Navy aboard the USS Aldebaran from 1966 to 1971. When in port he was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia.
He worked for United States Steel in Homestead, PA as a Journeyman Machinist for 20 years. He then moved his family to the Reading area and worked as a Journeyman Machinist for 24 years at Carpenter Technology retiring in 2009.
He loved spending time with his family and could often be found at his grandkids sporting events.
He was an avid reader and could usually be found with a newspaper in his hand. He was a fan of classic cars and attended many local car shows and went to the Carlisle Car show yearly.
Never one to sit still, he usually had a project he was working on including car mechanics, woodworking, and home improvement and repair.
He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Gerry Mazer; his daughter, Jennifer McElwee and her husband, Matthew; his son, Timothy Mazer and his wife, Julie; his four grandchildren, Madison, Jacob, Avigail, and Zachary.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Mary Parish in Larry's name.

A memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022, from 2:00 P.M. to 3:15 P.M. at Burkey & Driscoll Funeral Home, 40 South Fourth Street, Hamburg. Graveside services will begin at 3:30 P.M. in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hamburg. Family and friends are invited for a celebration of life following the graveside service.
