Lawrence M. "Larry" Englert, 71, of Spring Township, died April 17, 2017, in ManorCare, Sinking Spring.
He was the loving husband of Nancy M. (Pankowski) Englert. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 19, 2016.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Melchior and Florence (Wehinger) Englert.
He was a graduate of Central Catholic High School in 1963 and attended Albright College.
Larry was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as a sonar man on the USS Robert H. McCard DD822 during the Vietnam War from 1965-1969.
He was employed by Gilbert Associates as an electrical draftsman for 27 years. He later worked for Schuylkill Valley Middle School as a custodian.
Larry was a member of Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church, Temple.
He enjoyed woodworking, boating and computers.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Victoria M., wife of Thomas Miles, Ephrata; and Kristina M., wife of Robert Sarnoski, Shillington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Guardian Angels R.C. Church, 3121 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Kuhn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 5153 Kutztown Rd. Temple, PA 19605. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, 213 North Talbot Street, St Michaels, MD 21663 www.cbmm.org.
