Laura Agnes Stricker

Laura Agnes (Gehr) Stricker, 91, passed away on October 13, 2017, in Rittenhouse Village, Muhlenberg Twp.

She was the wife of Charles I. Stricker who passed away in April of 2005.

Born in Cumru Twp., she was the daughter of the late Harry and Laura (Kohl) Gehr.

Laura was a 1944 graduate of Wilson High School.

She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Reading.

Laura took great pride in her cooking and baking. Her life revolved around her loving family, her home, and her church. Laura had a deep love for her family and friends; she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be truly missed by all.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Rittenhouse Village and of Caring Hospice for the exceptional care that was given to Laura. Your efforts were greatly appreciated.

She is survived by son, Rev. Donald C., husband of Marsha L. Stricker, Palmerton; daughter, Dawn M., wife of Robert Weidner, Muhlenberg Township; four grandchildren: Michele A., wife of Robert Coller,Temple; Michael B., husband of Stefanie Stricker, Penn Argyl; Brian D. Stricker, husband of Gregory Josephs, Arlington, MA; and Megan M., wife of Kevin Barry, Walnutport; and five great-grandchildren: Allyson C. Morgan, Lauryn M. Morgan, Emily N. Morgan, Leah M. Barry, and Logan S. Barry. She is also survived by sister, Dorothy M. Delong, Mohnton.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading, 19611. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest HIlls Memorial Park, Exeter Twp. The family would like to request the absence of flowers, instead, they would prefer donations in Laura's memory to be sent to St. Luke's Lutheran Church at 449 N 9th St, Reading, PA 19601.
