Larry Lee Brendle, Sr. of Womelsdorf, formerly of Muhlenberg Township, died August 17, 2009 in Golden Ridge Personal Care Center, Robesonia.
He was the husband of the late Martha J. (Taylor) Brendle who died January 10, 2003.
Born July 20, 1942 in Reading, he was a son of the late Raymond and Fern (Miller) Brendle.
Larry was a 1960 graduate of Wilson High School.
He was employed as a machinist and designer for Narrow Fabric Industry, West Reading for 33 years, retiring in 1996.
Larry enjoyed walking, doing puzzles and watching the Phillies play. He was well known for his good will.
Surviving is a son Larry L., Jr., husband of Beth Ann (Althouse) Brendle, of Bernville.
There is also a step son, Leon Rushing of Sebring, FL and two step daughters, Sandy (Rushing) Hammond of Little Rock, AR and Debbie (Rushing) Bowen of San Diego, CA.
In addition, there is one sister, Nancy (Brendle), widow of John H. Hassler of Kenhorst.
There are also four grandchildren, one great granddaughter, eleven step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. Burial will be in St. John's (Hain's) Church Cemetery, Lower Heidelberg Township.
