Lajune A. Mcdonough

LaJune Audrey (Leinbach) McDonough, 100, passed away on April 11, 2025 at the Reading Hospital. She was the beloved wife of John Joseph McDonough until his passing in December 1995. They shared 49 years of love, and wonderful memories.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Thomas LeRoy and Mary Lydia (Seidel) Leinbach. She worked in the cafeteria at Lorane School, and as a sales representative for various retail stores. She was an active member of Reformation Lutheran Church and sang in their choir for 50 years.

LaJune enjoyed making art, especially painting and writing about her life. She also enjoyed being outdoors, listening to music, and had a love for animals. She loved to garden, and often grew vegetables and flowers. LaJune also enjoyed traveling, and learning about the places she went. She loved her country and was proud to support the military. LaJune loved being a mother, and always put her children first. She will be remembered for her zest for life, determination, and her resourcefulness.

Those treasuring LaJune's memory are her children: Kathleen J. Hartman, Mary Ann Naples (Frank), and Brian McDonough (Debra); her grandchildren: Angela, Brandon, Allison, Tara, John, Jesse, Christopher, and Corey; as well as her nine great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her siblings: Mary Schilling, Evelyn Christman, Olivia Lapp, Fern Slater, and Thomas Leinbach; and her great granddaughter, Kelsey J. Naples.

The funeral service for LaJune will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home, 739 Penn Ave, West Reading, PA, 19611, with burial to follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park. Friends and family may gather from 9 a.m until the beginning of the service.
