Kristina B. Wynne

Kristina B. Wynne, 36, of Hamburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with leukemia. She was the loving wife of Shawn C. Wynne, whom she married on October 21, 2017, under a 400 year old oak tree at a grove in Oley, PA.

Born to Kenneth Wert and Audrey Novotny in Shamokin, Kristina graduated from Shamokin High School in 2004. Prior to her final bout with her cancer, Kristina worked as a nurse's aid for the elderly and disadvantaged.

At about age four, when she sat in the saddle of a horse for the first time, it became a lifelong love affair and years later, with the help of some friends and the Make a Wish - made that dream come true. Horses remained important to her throughout her life, and she was a champion trainer and handler, winning numerous blue ribbons at countless shows. Her connection to horses carried her through very difficult periods of her life.

The natural world was a constant source of hope for Kristinia and her family. She and Shawn treasured their honeymoon to Ireland, and she was passionate about Celtic culture. Kristina had looked forward to an upcoming trip to stargaze at Cherry Springs State Park. Her family knows she will be looking at those same stars, just a little bit closer.

Left to treasure Kristina's memory is her husband, Shawn; her father, Kenneth; her mother, Audrey; her sister, Pamela Richie (Bryan) of Auburn; her brother, Brian Foulds (Shelby) of Shamokin; her sister-in-law, Erin McLaughlin (Sean); and her niece and nephews: Logan, Travis, Lake, Teagan, Kade, and Quinn.

Services for Kristina will be announced at a later date.
