Kristen Lynn Guiles

Kristen Lynn (Wertz) Guiles passed away on September 7, 2016, after her courageous three year battle with cancer.

She was married August 8, 1992, to George Alexander Guiles with whom she shared 24 years of marriage. Kristen was born on September 30, 1969, in Reading, PA. She was the daughter of Spencer W. Wertz Jr. and Carole A. (Kopteros) Wertz.

Kristen was a 1987 graduate of Reading High School and Reading Muhlenberg Vocational Technical School. She received the "Outstanding Student & Honors Award" for Cosmetology. She was a professional Cosmetologist until her sons were born and then she became a dedicated, loving, stay-at-home mother.

Kristen is survived by her two young sons, George Andrew Guiles (10 yrs old), a student at Governor Mifflin Intermediate School, and Gabriel Alexander Guiles (7 yrs old), a student at Brecknock Elementary; her brother Scott Michael Wertz, husband of Tammy Lynn Wertz, and her sister Shelly Ann (Wertz) Wendeln, wife of Berthold Wendeln. She is also survived by her maternal grandfather Frank Kopteros and a paternal grandmother Dorothy Wertz, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Candace Errin Wertz.

Services will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at 1 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading, with burial to follow in Laureldale Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions can me made to George Guiles, P.O.
