Kolleene June Mathews

Kolleene "Kay" June Mathews, nee Brown, 87 years, passed away Sunday June 9, 2024 in the care of Laurel Center Hamburg. Kay was born April 2, 1937 at St. Joseph's Hospital to the late Charles Foster and Blanche Vera Brown, nee Gilbert. She was educated in the Reading Area schools and was employed as a textile worker with Vanity Fair Outlets for over 35 years.

Kay was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a good cook and loved taking care of her family. She enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City and Las Vegas playing the slot machines and also enjoyed playing the lottery. Kay loved animals especially her cats and dogs. She also was enjoyed Egyptology.

Kay was predeceased by her parents and siblings; Vivian Steiger, Charles Brown, and Kirk Brown.

Left to cherish her memory are her son Thomas B. Mathews and his longtime companion Freda Morehart, whom Kay considered a daughter, and her daughter Michelle Lis and her husband Richard, grandchildren; Jasmine Mathews, Paul Lis, Carly Weidner, William Morehart, and Aaron Morehart, great grandchildren; Emere, Joshua, Matthew, Madison, Alison, Alessandra, Landon, Emelyn, Peyton, Trevor, and Everet.
