Kirk Lloyd Boyer

Kirk Lloyd Boyer, 62, passed away on January 31, 2025 at the Reading Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Reading, he was the son of Romaine (Kauffman) and the late Harlan L. Boyer. Kirk was a 1980 graduate of Wilson High school, and 1984 graduate of Penn State University, earning a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Kirk was known to be a car guy, and loved driving and detailing his own. He was a big racing fan, and often visited the Reading Fairgrounds when he was younger, where his favorite racer was Kenny Brightbill. He also loved watching sports, particularly the Eagles. You could always find Kirk outside, taking care of his yard and garden, or taking photographs of nature, and wildlife. He enjoyed gifting those photos to his family and friends. Kirk will be remembered for his caring personality, large heart, his dry wit, and sense of humor.

His family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at Reading Hospital for their care and compassion during Kirk's time there.

In addition to his mother, Romaine, Kirk is survived by his sister, Kirstin Bordner; his uncles: Glenn Kauffman, Donald Kauffman (Karen), and Dean Wetzel; several cousins; and his beloved cat, Trouble. He is predeceased by his father, Harlan, and his aunt, Jeanette.

The Celebration of Kirk's Life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Kuhn Funeral Home, West Reading. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.
