Kim T. Manning, 38, of West Reading, died March 13, 2007 in her parents' residence in Mohnton after a two year battle with cancer.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of W. Bernard and Jean (Fry) Manning.
She was a teacher for the Antietam School District last working in May of 2006.
She was a graduate of Reading High School in 1986, where she was on the varsity swim team for her final three seasons, including being named the captain of the team her senior season. She was also voted the outstanding female athlete at Reading High School in 1986.
She attended the University of Maryland where she swam for the varsity team in both the 1987-1988 and the 1988-1989 seasons. She graduated from Lebanon Valley College in 1991, where she also swam for the varsity team.
Kim received her teaching certificate from Alvernia College in 2005. She was the recreation swim coach for West Reading from 2003 to 2006. She also served on the West Reading Recreation Commission since 2006.
Kim was a devoted mother to her two sons, Andrew L. Moyer and Brett L. Moyer, both at home. There are also two brothers, Edward B. Manning, Boyertown and Scott A. Manning, Mohnton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, West Reading. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery.
