Kevin James Butler, 54, of Spokane, Washington, died September 17, 2010 in Holy Family Hospital, Spokane.
He was the companion of Margaret M. Smith of Spokane.
Born September 15, 1956 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James Joseph Butler and Kathleen (Hagan) Butler.
Kevin was a 1974 graduate of Wilson High School. He attended Wesley College in Delaware and then transferred to Boston College in Massachusettes.
He was employed as a sales representative for most of his adult life. He loved sales and made friends everywhere he went. Kevin has maintained many of the friendships he made in the first grade. He was a wonderful person who was loved by many people. He will be desperately missed by his family and friends.
Kevin loved the Philadelphia Eagles, the Grateful Dead, the Beatles, railroads, golf, skiing, movies, concerts, and music. He also loved good food and conversation, especially about politics.
Surviving is a sister, Mary M. (Butler), wife of Morgan H. Shears of Wyomissing.
There is also a niece, Melissa Anne Shears of Jersey City, New Jersey.
Kevin's family and friends pray that he is at peace now.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 25 at 11 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will be private in Gethsemane Mausoleum.
In honor of Kevin's love of animals, especially his cat Max, contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540.
