Kerry G. Gilbert

Kerry G. Gilbert, 54, of Shillington, died January 26, 2012, in Reading Hospital.

He was the husband of Gloria L. (Burkhart) Gilbert. They were married 36 years on November 1.

Born in Pottstown, he was a son of Janice D. (Lenhart) Gilbert, Bechtelsville and the late Robert W. Gilbert.

He was a 1975 graduate of Boyertown High School.

Kerry was employed for 25 years by Lancaster Toyota Mazda, last working on November 16.

He began racing micro sprints at LANCO racetrack over 15 years ago. His role expanded over the years as he became a volunteer and later the Vice President for the club.

Kerry bowled in the Fleetwood Mens League for many years.

When he was not racing or giving of his time at the race track, Kerry loved spending time with his family and his much loved grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two children, Nicholas A., Temple and Marci L., Shillington; and his brother, Dennis R., husband of Karen, Oley. Marci's two children, Lucas and Lillian also survive him.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday February 4 at 3 p.m. in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., West Reading, with a visitation from 1 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home.
